Andrea Slane B.A. (High Honours) (Rutgers) 1986, PhD (Comparative
Literature) (UCSD) 1995, J.D. (Honours) (Toronto) 2003, is a visiting
fellow at the Centre for Innovation Law and Policy. Her current
projects examines legal approaches to unsolicited bulk email (spam) and
child luring on the Internet, with regard to how implemented and
proposed solutions adhere to varying conceptions of democracy.
While at Olser, Hoskin __ Harcourt LLP she drafted submissions to
the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care on Ontario's proposed health
privacy legislation for the Roundtable on Health Informatics and
Privacy, a group consisting of government and private industry members
in both health and network technology sectors. Her book, A Not So
Foreign Affair: Fascism, Sexuality and the Cultural Rhetoric of
American Democracy, was published by Duke University Press in 2001. |
